- Yes, you can use the modem as a substitute for direct-link play. I've
- done this with Warcraft, Mechwarrior II, and a couple of other games.
- What you have to do is send the modem an AT&D0 so it doesn't hang up when
- you drop DTR (leaving your term program), then use the ATX3D and ATA
- commands to connect like you were doing from a term program, and exit the
- term program before running the game, with the modems still connected.

- BTW, I assume you mean you're using the RJ-45 jacks. The RS-232
- connection is the serial cable.
